MOTAL
In April of 2024, Mad Systems completed a traveling exhibition for the Museum of Teaching and Learning (MOTAL), based in Fullerton, CA. What started six years prior as an idea of a “brain-mobile” turned into a traveling exhibition called “Your Baby’s Amazing Brain”. Housed in a donated 50-foot moving van, this traveling exhibition was designed to travel across Southern California and beyond to educate new parents, human development students and other interested audiences.
A highlight of the exhibition is a four foot long, three foot wide sculpture of the human brain created by a local California artist. This central piece features intricate projection mapping that educates visitors about the brain’s structure, function and location of its various parts.
The entire exhibit is powered by a traditional AV system installed in a custom made storage cabinet in the front of the trailer.
Inside the trailer, are 12 personality quiz-style exhibits on touch screens. These activities are designed to show guests their parenting style and other crucial aspects of human development including brain health, screen time, language development, emotional intelligence and the importance of play. With a continued effort for inclusivity and personalized experiences, each activity is offered in four languages: English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Korean.
